- Provide direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities - Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration - Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors - Support individuals in developing and maintaining social skills and relationships - Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, nurses, and therapists to ensure comprehensive care - Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and individual progress - Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect the privacy and confidentiality of individuals Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role or field such as social work, nursing, or direct support preferred - Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies - Ability to provide patient-centered care and support individuals with diverse needs - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with individuals, families, and team members - Ability to handle conflict situations calmly and professionally - Understanding of medication administration protocols and procedures - Familiarity with nursing home regulations and standards of care Please note that this job description is not exhaustive and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
