0 Opa-locka, FL Opa-locka, FL Full-time Full-time $30 - $35 an hour $30 - $35 an hour Aircraft Quality Control Inspector The Aircraft Quality Control Inspector reports to the Quality Control Manager and Director of Quality.
Inspectors are responsible for the efficient and economic determination of the airworthiness of aircraft, engine, appliance, and component maintenance actions assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:
Duties will include, but may not be limited to:
Participates actively in the company's Safety Management System (SMS) program.
The performance of inspection functions in accordance with the Maintenance Program, AD, SB or other requirement to ensure aircraft, engines, appliances and components are maintained to a prescribed standard in order to continue their airworthiness.
Provides quality oversight for all maintenance activities.
Performs preliminary, in progress, hidden damage and final inspections.
Performs special inspections as detailed by the requesting or requiring document.
Performs Required Inspection Item (RII) and Buy Back inspections.
Performs receiving inspections to ensure the use of legal, conforming, and applicable parts and materials.
Ensures that inspections and surveillance are performed as required on necessary maintenance actions to assure the use of approved data, material, tools, test equipment and that high standards of workmanship are present.
Provide guidance and assistance to maintenance personnel to train, maintain and enhance compliance to programs, policies, and procedures.
Performed required inspection functions during all checks such as airframe and engine inspections called out on routine.
Perform buy back inspections on major items or non-routine work items.
Inspectors, when assigned to a Primary Inspection function, will find and record those discrepancies requiring corrective action.
Monitor all aircraft maintenance being performed utilizing the proper technical data, forms, and other acceptable methods, during aircraft maintenance to ensure proper compliance of all routine and non-routine maintenance.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Quality and/or Accountable Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS Must possess a working knowledge or understanding of the duties, responsibilities and authorities defined within this position description.
Hold a current Part 65 Certificate with an Airframe and/or Power Plant rating and have held these ratings for at least three years.
FAA A&P certificate- REQUIRED Have two years of maintenance experience on different types of large airplanes (having 10 or more passenger seats) with an air carrier or repair station.
Have maintenance experience on the category and class of aircraft as that of the company, preferably.
Be trained in or be thoroughly familiar with the methods, techniques, practices, aids, equipment, and tools used to perform the maintenance, preventive maintenance, or alterations as Able to understand, read, and write English.
