The Director of Continuing Education and Professional Studies - Learn to Work (Workforce Development) oversees the Workforce Development and Employment Strategies for the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Studies.
The Director develops, implements, and oversees systems and processes related to the Office of Continuing Education and Professional Studies.
Provides leadership and oversight of Workforce Development and Employment Strategies.
Develops and oversees relationships with external partners and businesses.
Oversees the FMU Cyber Innovation Hub and engages technology companies to develop rapid industry-certified credentials.
Ensures all operational areas align with the College's vision and mission.
This is a full-time position requiring a flexible schedule.
This customer-centric role is responsible to deliver service excellence support to meet the needs of our University community.

Essential Functions:
Directs the activities of the FMU Cyber Innovation Hub and Learn to Work (Workforce Development) program.
Plans, manages, and evaluates projects and services impacting the new FMU Cyber Innovation Hub.
Supports FMU's commitment to work-based learning and apprenticeships to serve business and industry through the FMU Cyber Innovation Hub.
Serves as technology and innovation liaison.
Collaborates with staff, faculty, students, community, business, and industry to increase technology job opportunities and work-based learning protocols.
Oversees special projects and pilots related to documenting credentials, technology jobs, and employability skills regimen.
Supervises and mentors new employees; prioritizes and assigns work.
Conducts performance evaluations and ensures staff is trained.
Makes hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
Partners with university departments, external institutions, and agencies to address complex issues or policies impacting assigned programs, services, or operations.
Develops, plans, implements, and administers departmental goals and objectives.
Manages strategic marketing and outreach activities to identify workforce and economic development needs and develop initiatives.
Coordinates with Division Deans on the development, oversight, and management of programs, projects, and offerings.
Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
Develop FMU's long-term engagement strategy Implement effective educational enrichment programs and initiatives state-wide education, social, civic, cultural, and faith-based organizations to attract talented students to FMU.
Creating communication materials, and representing the university at offsite and onsite locations such as graduate school fairs, professional meetings, and workshops.
Assist the Executive Director with developing and implementing programs to recruit for Continuing Education and Professional Studies.
Assist in expanding dual enrollment with local high schools and support International Studies and Study Abroad.
Seek grant funding for credentialing and community initiatives and engagement.
Performs miscellaneous and other job-related duties as assigned.

Demonstrate knowledge of community-based programs with a clear understanding of urban issues and communities.
Also, must have strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft applications.

Administrative support.
Phone calls, messaging, ordering supplies, and maintaining records management database systems.
Manage department calendars, emails, and business numbers.

Requires handling of average-weight objects up to fifty (50) pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree with five (5) plus years, or workforce development experience with fifteen (15) plus years related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Master's degree preferred.
Extensive background in elementary, middle, or secondary school programs.
Recent, documented successful experience in improving parent and community engagement and student achievement required.
Expertise in providing family engagement professional development to schools/districts.
Experience with school or district improvement practices related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment, preferred Excellent communication skills for implementing workshops, institutes, coaching programs, site-based research, and making presentations to districts, school boards, and community groups.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proofreading skills are required.
Attention to detail and adaptability to a changing environment is extremely important as well as dependability.
Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with clients, colleagues, and organizations.
Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule that may include working nights and weekends Demonstrated experience in working with diverse populations Must be able to work well with students, faculty, staff, and the community.
Bilingual preferred Intermediate proficiency in MS Office Suite, and LinkedIn Learning, as well as knowledge and understanding of the organizational structure, workflow, and operating procedures.
Familiar with Jenzabar technology suite for higher education and Banner financial system.
